Responsibilities or duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise all shift operations to achieve daily operational targets.
  • Allocate duties and deploy staff based on workload and operational priorities.
  • Monitor productivity and ensure work is completed within agreed timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security policies.
  • Conduct shift briefings and communicate daily objectives to team members.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, overtime, and leave for shift employees.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide performance feedback to team members.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues, customer complaints, and incidents occurring during the shift.
  • Ensure accurate completion of operational documentation, reports, and system transactions.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Monitor equipment utilization and report maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through proper stock handling, cycle counts, and reconciliation where applicable.
  • Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit end-of-shift reports highlighting performance, incidents, and outstanding issues.
  • Manage emergencies and escalate critical issues to management when necessary.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Minimum Qualifications

  • First degree in Finance/Accounting, Operations or Supply Chain Management
  • Professional Certification in CPA/ACCA/APICS/CIPS

  • Planning & organizational skills
  • Knowledge of inventory & warehouse management systems (WMS/ERP)
  • Analytical and reporting skills
  • Customer-focused mindset

Experience needed

Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in any of the following fields: -
  • Supply Chain/Operations/Inventory Management
  • Risk/Governance/Compliance Management
  • Understanding of generally accepted Supply Chain, Inventory Management and Auditing SOPs and KPIs.
  • Working knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen is an added advantage.
