Senior Specialist, IT Internal Audit

Audit Planning and Execution: Lead the planning and execution of complex IT internal audit engagements, including developing audit programs and determining the scope and objectives in line with professional standards. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk interviews and assessments to identify potential IT risks, evaluate the adequacy of IT governance, cybersecurity, and data management practices, and recommend enhancements. Testing and Analysis: Perform testing of IT general controls (ITGCs), application controls, and security configurations across various environments (e.g., infrastructure, cloud, ERP systems). Reporting and Communication: Prepare detailed, high-quality audit reports and presentations for senior management and the audit committee, communicating findings and obtaining buy-in for practical, value-adding recommendations. Process Improvement and Collaboration: Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations, contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies using data analytics, and collaborate with operational, financial, and external auditors. Mentorship: Provide coaching and mentoring to junior audit staff.

Strong understanding of IT audit methodologies, risk management frameworks, cybersecurity threats, and emerging technologies (cloud computing, automation, data analytics) is essential. Proficiency with audit software and analytics tools (e.g., TeamMate, IDEA, ACL, Power BI).

A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, accounting, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred. Experience: A minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in internal audit, IT audit, risk, or a control-related role, preferably within a complex, regulated environment like financial services, is generally expected.
