TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR A SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER AT LEHEM INTERIORS LTD

Position: Senior Interior Designer

Location: Nairobi

We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will lead interior design projects from concept development through execution, ensuring exceptional design quality, technical accuracy and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of creative and functional design concepts aligned with client needs and project budgets.
• Oversee space planning, material selection, lighting concepts, furniture layouts and custom joinery designs.
• Review and approve design presentations, drawings, and renderings before client submission.
• Supervise preparation of technical drawings and ensure accuracy and compliance with design standards and regulations.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including timelines, budgets and coordination with architects, contractors and suppliers.
• Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and maintain design integrity.
• Serve as the key contact for clients, leading meetings, presentations and design approvals.
• Mentor and supervise Interior Designers and CAD Technicians to maintain high design quality.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in interior design, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
• Proven experience managing residential, commercial or hospitality projects from concept to completion.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality executed projects.
• Working knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, Lumion, Photoshop or other visualization tools.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
• Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and construction methods.
• Excellent communication, creativity, and project coordination skills.
