Background
Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales Supervisor to lead its sales team and spearhead business development among corporate and institutional clients. This is a hands-on sales leadership position for someone who can manage people while personally driving high-value business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the Sales Executive team.
- Set daily, weekly and monthly sales priorities.
- Monitor individual and team sales performance.
- Support Sales Executives with difficult prospects and negotiations.
- Conduct regular pipeline reviews and sales performance meetings.
- Coach and mentor sales team members.
- Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure the team consistently works towards agreed sales targets.
- Identify and develop corporate and institutional accounts.
- Build relationships with decision-makers, procurement teams, contractors, developers and other key stakeholders.
- Generate and manage high-value sales opportunities.
- Lead negotiations for major accounts.
- Prepare and present commercial proposals.
- Develop strategic customer relationships.
- Identify opportunities for repeat business and cross-selling.
- Maintain a strong corporate sales pipeline.
- Identify new markets and business opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
- Develop strategies for increasing market share.
- Represent the company at relevant exhibitions, meetings and industry events.
- Provide management with sales forecasts and market intelligence.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years experience in B2B sales, with demonstrated sales leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience selling machinery, construction equipment, automotive equipment, industrial products, engineering solutions or other technical products is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Strong corporate and institutional sales experience.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Ability to coach and motivate salespeople.
- Strong commercial awareness and business development skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple sales opportunities and priorities.
- A valid driving licence is an advantage.
Additional Details
In addition to the KES 50,000 basic salary, the role offers commission based on sales performance. This role is particularly suited to someone who is motivated by team performance, corporate accounts and high-value sales.
