Background
COSECSA, established in 1999, is a professional body mandated to foster postgraduate surgical education and training across the East, Central, and Southern Africa region. Its mission is to promote excellence in surgical care, training, and research throughout the region. COSECSA has 142 accredited hospitals across its 14 Member Countries (Botswana, Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe) and 8 external Training sites (Cameroon, DRC, Eswatini, Gabon, Lesotho, Madagascar, Niger, and Somalia)
St. Luke's O & T Hospital is an approved and recognized training center under the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA).
Training Duration
1st January 2026 – 31st December 2027 (2 years)
Minimum Requirements
- Must have a valid practice license from KMPDC
- Should have a strong interest in the field of Orthopaedics
- Must have demonstrated a strong work ethics and a positive attitude towards work in previous employment set up or during rotations
- Rotation in surgical unit for a minimum period of 1 year will be an added advantage
- Successful completion of the MCS program in the past 1 year
- Commitment to a rigorous training program with high demands

- Quarterly written examinations
