Background

Our client in the steel manufacturing industry is seeking a dedicated Quality Officer to join their Operations Department. This crucial role is responsible for the overall supervision and attainment of required product quality standards, ensuring compliance with both customer specifications and established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Core Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance & Control: Implement inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to assure the reliability of manufacturing processes, production equipment, and finished products.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all processes adhere to stringent quality standards, manage quality-related records, and prepare necessary documentation like Certificates of Analysis (COA) for each product dispatch.
  • Post-Production Verification: Oversee and verify correct packaging, loading procedures, and conduct post-dispatch Quality Assurance to confirm product stability and assure customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting & Improvement: Collect, analyze, and summarize quality data to prepare comprehensive reports and identify factors for continuous quality improvement. This includes managing batch reconciliation records and preparing samples for external approvals (e.g., KEBs).
  • Safety and Standards: Uphold compliance with all Health & Safety regulations, Quality, and Environmental standards, supporting a disciplined and collaborative work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Academic Background: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quality Assurance or Mechanical Engineering (additional engineering certification is a plus).
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Quality Officer is mandatory, with a preference for experience in the fabrication industry or similar manufacturing environments.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal presentation skills, and high competency in problem-solving and decision-making. Must be commercially aware and possess excellent computer skills.
