Job Summary

The Pump Attendant will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while dispensing fuel, lubricants, and related products. They will ensure accuracy in transactions, safety in operations, and a clean, well maintained working environment to support smooth station operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense petrol, diesel, and other fuel products efficiently and safely while providing quality customer service, including checking oil, water, tire pressure, and cleaning windscreens.
  • Promote and sell lubricants, car care products, and other station services to enhance customer experience and drive sales.
  • Keep the pump area clean, tidy, and free from hazards while ensuring fuel pumps, nozzles, and surrounding areas are cleaned regularly.
  • Assist in maintaining overall station cleanliness, including the forecourt area.
  • Monitor fuel levels in pumps and promptly notify the supervisor when stock is low.
  • Track and report sales of lubricants and other related products.
  • Assist in receiving and verifying fuel deliveries when required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and all regulatory requirements within the petroleum sector.
  • Respond to customers in a friendly and timely manner.
  • Identify potential business risks and propose appropriate mitigation strategies

Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • KCSE Certificate (Minimum D+)
  • Previous experience as a pump attendant is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of fuel products, lubricants, and basic car care services (engine oil checks, tire pressure, water levels) is an added advantage.
  • Understanding of safety procedures related to fuel handling, fire risks, spill control, and station operations.
  • High level of integrity, honesty, and reliability
  • Additional training in customer service or basic mechanics is an added advantage.
