iColo: A Digital Realty Company, is the leading carrier-neutral data center provider operating state of the art facilities in Kenya and Mozambique. We serve a broad spectrum of clients - Telecom carriers, ISPs &d peering points, IT & cloud providers, content providers, enterprise & financial services customers.

Responsibilities

This role forms an integral part of the projects team and will be expected to perform the following responsibilities.

  • Project planning and scope definition.
  • Definition of deliverables and timelines of consultants, contractors & suppliers.
  • Project resource planning and allocation.
  • Create, monitor, and analyze project critical path and master schedules.
  • Develop responsibility matrix and project RACI.
  • Weekly project tracking and progress reporting.
  • Prepare coordinated weekly updates of contractor & supplier performance.
  • Establish and communicate project requirements to suppliers and contractors to meet Management expectations.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor quality control plans and checklists of the project and facilitate the signing off of final acceptance between commissioning managers, design managers and contractors/suppliers.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance during project design, implementation, and commissioning phases.
  • Track baselines, perform what-if analysis, and develop contingency plans.
  • Develop project organogram and project escalation matrix.
  • Ensure effective communication and escalation lines to align and manage expectations.
  • Provide direction, guidance and support to the teams ensuring expectations and responsibilities are clear.
  • Create and maintain project risk registers.
  • Tracking program risks and opportunities that have financial implications and notifying the team to take required actions.
  • Create and track project risks and opportunities and escalate as required for relevant actions.
  • Review and discuss any changes to schedules proposed for communication to and approval by Management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors &suppliers.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation to enhance schedule efficiency, effectiveness, and value for project delivery.
  • Implement best practices and industry standards to optimize project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a technical project management role in Data center or relevant industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering field.
  • Project management certification PMP (PMI), Prince2, IPMA.
  • Proficient in primavera P6 and MS project.
