Master Power Systems Limited (MPSL) came into inception in 2001 and is now a leading engineering and contracting company specialized in designing and executing electrical works, with the main focus being in the corporate market strong minded in providing quality service. Today, MPSL has grown and works on electrical installation projects all over Kenya, Uganda and it is spreading far across East and Central Africa. With highly experienced staff of about 250 on payroll and 400 casual staff, we have the capacity to deliver the best. We are continuously striving to expand our operations by diversifying geographical risks and consequently we have opened up an office in Mombasa and Kampala, Uganda.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Procurement Engineer role based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Procurement Engineer will manage end-to-end procurement activities for engineering and MEP projects, including identifying requirements, preparing and issuing Requests for Quotation (RFQs), evaluating supplier offers, and coordinating purchase orders. Responsibilities include maintaining supplier relationships, tracking delivery timelines, ensuring compliance with company policies and technical specifications, and optimizing costs without compromising quality. The role involves close collaboration with engineering, project management, and finance teams to align procurement plans with project schedules and budgets, as well as continuous improvement of procurement processes and vendor performance.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Supplier Evaluation skills, including assessing technical capability, reliability, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Candidates should possess experience with Purchase Orders and RFQs, including preparing requests, comparing quotations, and processing orders in an organized, timely manner.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills and Communication abilities to interpret data, prepare reports, negotiate with suppliers, and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in procurement within construction, MEP, or electrical engineering projects is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency in procurement or ERP systems and MS Office tools, with strong attention to detail and adherence to ethical purchasing practices.
- Ability to work on-site in Nairobi County, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
