Role Overview & Scope
The Pharmaceutical Technologist will oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations, accurately dispense prescribed medications, counsel patients on safe drug usage, manage medical inventory, and support procurement forecasting.
Key Responsibilities
- Medication Dispensing: Dispense medication accurately to patients in accordance with prescriptions.
- Patient Counseling: Provide patient counseling on safe, effective, and appropriate medication usage.
- Inventory Management: Manage pharmacy inventory, cold-chain storage, and clinical record-keeping.
- Procurement Support: Support procurement forecasting and stock management to ensure essential medicines remain in stock.
- General Duties: Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the hospital management.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
- Professional Registration: Valid registration from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
- Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant practical experience in pharmacy operations.
- Medication Dispensing: Dispense medication accurately to patients in accordance with prescriptions.
- Patient Counseling: Provide patient counseling on safe, effective, and appropriate medication usage.
- Inventory Management: Manage pharmacy inventory, cold-chain storage, and clinical record-keeping.
