Main Duties:
- Assessing patients/ clients’ health needs and diet.
- Counseling patients on nutrition issues and healthy eating habits.
- Developing meal plans, taking both cost and clients’ preferences into account.
- Evaluating the effects of meal plans and changing the plans as needed
- Promoting better nutrition by speaking to groups about diet, nutrition, and the relationship between good eating habits and preventing or managing specific diseases
- Keeping up with the latest nutritional science research.
- Conducting nutritional assessment for all children and vulnerable adults.
- Conducting home visits and assessing needs, making appropriate referrals
- Providing nutritional counseling and education.
- Facilitating Treatment Preparation and developing of appropriate education services.
- ART adherence counseling
- Writing reports to document patient progress
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required
- Any other duty assigned from time to time
Required Qualifications and Skills for the Position
- Diploma in Nutrition
- BSc in Nutrition/ Dietetics is desired.
- 3 Years Experience in a busy set up
- Evaluation & reporting skills
- Attention to detail.
- Valid KNDI Practice Licence
- Assessing patients/ clients’ health needs and diet.
