EngenderHealth is seeking expressions of interest from highly qualified candidates for the M&E Manager position on an anticipated new Gates Foundation (GF) funded project in Kenya, to scale up the introduction of the hormonal IUD in the public sector as part of an expanded contraceptive method mix. Kenyan nationals are strongly encouraged to apply. JOB SUMMARY
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight of all project monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning activities to drive performance and impact. The incumbent is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a robust ME&L framework that ensures timely tracking, analysis, and reporting of project results against established objectives and performance indicators. The M&E Manager ensures that evidence, lessons learned, and best practices are systematically captured, analyzed, and disseminated to inform strategic decision-making, strengthen program effectiveness, and enhance the overall impact of the project.
Develops and implements a project M&E system according to EngenderHealth and donor requirements and practices. Designs/adapts project performance monitoring database to report performance indicator data monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually. Develops/adapts tools for data collection; designs and implements surveys and other data collection tasks. Oversees implementation of the project’s baseline and endline assessments Documents project achievements against targets using monitoring data and works with project staff to document the factors behind gaps and over achievements. Manages and coaches a small team and guides partners to implement key M&E activities, including routine data collection and reporting. Builds capacity of project staff, on the use of data for decision making and performance improvement. Collaborate with other project team members to develop and institute initiatives to regularly use performance monitoring data Responds to ad hoc data requests and presents project data in easily digestible formats for external audiences Uses data to systematically and consistently document achievements, success stories, and best practices Disseminates project information through written reports, conference presentations, and publications Develop systems and tools to evaluate the outcomes and impact of the training of SRHR service providers with main focus on counseling and quality of services delivery
Committed to EngenderHealth’s core organizational values of reflection, inclusion, integrity, respect, and transformation. Excellent diplomacy skills and a proven ability to establish and maintain interpersonal and professional relationships with GF, and other implementing partners such as NGOs, CSOs, and the private sector. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
A degree in public health, demography, epidemiology, statistics, or health related field. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in M&E of large scale health program with deep understanding of sexual and reproductive health Demonstrated research experience and skills, complemented by experience in collaborating with various types of partners. Demonstrated experience across the following (i) development of evaluation designs and operational research studies (ii) creation and implementation of M&E strategies and plans (iii) development of quantitative and qualitative protocols, including mixed method methodologies, analysis, report writing and dissemination of data (iv) utilization of health management information systems (e.g. DHIS2, LMIS), including the reporting of data and (v) Conducting data quality assessments. Expertise to process and analyze data using one or more statistical software packages, including at least one of the following: SPSS, Stata or/and SAS. Ability to tailor data collection approaches to local needs, interests, and capabilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) Ability to travel within Kenya
