Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Valid Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) Practicing License.
  • Minimum of one (1) year post-internship clinical experience in a hospital setting.
  • Experience working in a busy Level 4 or higher hospital will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work in various departments including Outpatient, Inpatient, Maternity, Theatre, Emergency, and Pediatric units.
  • Sound knowledge of nursing procedures, patient safety standards, infection prevention and control practices.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, flexibility, and commitment to quality patient care.
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays when required.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Providing safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care to patients.
  • Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient progress accurately.
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Supporting doctors and other healthcare professionals during patient management.
  • Ensuring compliance with Nursing Council of Kenya regulations and hospital policies
  • Maintaining infection prevention and control standards at all times.
  • Participating in emergency response and patient stabilization where necessary.
  • Ensuring proper nursing documentation and handover procedures.
  • Promoting patient education and advocating for patient-centered care.
  • Supporting the hospital's quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
