Background

The Nairobi Women's Hospital is a hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. The hospital was founded in 2001 by Dr. Sam Thenya and is the first of its kind in the East and Central Africa region

Role Context

We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented and experienced professional to lead and manage the Group’s legal and compliance function across all entities. This role will provide strategic legal advisory services, develop and implement the Group Legal & Compliance Strategy, serve as Company Secretary to the Board and Management, and define, monitor and strengthen compliance with all statutory, regulatory and governance requirements. The position will also be responsible for developing and implementing legal and compliance policies, processes and procedures that ensure effective legal risk management, sound corporate governance, contract management and regulatory compliance in line with the Group’s strategic objectives

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B), a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing certificate, and membership in the Law Society of Kenya. A Certified Public Secretary (CPS) qualification will be an added advantage. The ideal candidate should have 3 - 5 years' relevant legal practice experience, with strong knowledge of corporate law, compliance, corporate governance, and contract management, coupled with excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
