Job Description
The Lecturer, KEWI 1 reports to the Senior Lecturer KEWI 6.
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
- Implementing curriculum and training manuals;
- Preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
- Lecturing in the area of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
- Setting and marking examinations/assignments;
- Carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer;
- Implementing guidelines for students with special needs;
- Preparing students progress reports;
- Conducting student academic mentorship programmes; and
- Developing and maintaining class registers.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade an officer must have: -
- At least three (3) years relevant work experience at the grade of Lecturer II or in a comparable position;
- Bachelor’s degree in Irrigation Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognised University;
- Certificate in Training of trainers (TOT) course lasting not less than six (6) months from a recognised Institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
