The Laboratory Technologist I is responsible for conducting laboratory tests and analyses to support engineering, water quality, or materials testing.
- Laboratory Testing: Conduct physical, chemical, and microbiological tests on water, soil, building materials, and other samples according to standard operating procedures.
- Sample Collection: Collect and receive samples for testing, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and chain of custody.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including spectrophotometers, microscopes, and water quality meters.
- Quality Control: Implement quality control measures and ensure accuracy and precision of test results.
- Data Recording: Maintain accurate records of test results, observations, and analysis.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit laboratory reports on testing results, including interpretation of data.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols, including chemical handling and waste disposal.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain laboratory supplies, chemicals, and reagents.
