Responsibilities or duties
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting to the Head of Pathology, the successful candidate will ensure provision of effective, efficient, and quality laboratory analytical services in the Hospital.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain laboratory quality management system in alignment with ISO 15189, JCIA, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate document and record control processes to promote standardization and compliance.
- Plan and conduct internal audits, coordinate external and other applicable audits and inspections.
- Manage nonconformities, incidents, and risk assessments to enhance patient and staff safety.
- Monitor and analyze quality indicators and support management review processes.
- Coordinate staff quality training, orientation, and competence assessments.
- Oversee internal and external quality control programs.
- Manage customer feedback to support continuous service improvement.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Experience needed
The requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
- Valid professional license from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a busy medical laboratory, including demonstrated involvement in laboratory accreditation processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
