Trainee Planter Program - Labor Administration & Industrial Relations

Role Summary: Manages the human resources function on the estate, specifically regarding the permanent and casual labor force. This role ensures compliance with labor laws, manages recruitment, and maintains industrial peace.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the recruitment process for field workers, ensuring proper medical checks and documentation.

Attendance & Payroll: Oversee daily "roll call" (attendance) and ensure accurate piece-rate calculations for plucking and task-rate calculations for general work.

Industrial Relations: Act as the first point of contact for worker grievances; manage union relations and ensure adherence to Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).

Welfare Services: Administer estate welfare facilities including housing, crèches, health centers, and worker canteens.

Disciplinary Actions: Investigate misconduct and implement disciplinary procedures in line with company policy and local labor law.
