Ideal Candidates:
Enthusiastic and creative aspiring educators with a passion for Kiswahili, language learning, and working with children. Candidates should have strong spoken and written Kiswahili skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and collaborate with teachers and learners.
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Kiswahili, Languages, or a related field
- Fluency in Kiswahili and English
- Strong spoken and written Kiswahili skills
- Passion for language learning and education
- Previous experience working with children is an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with learners and colleagues
- Creativity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working with children
- Strong alignment with Woodland Star’s mission and values
- Current police clearance certificate or willingness to obtain one
- At least one academic or professional reference
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging Kiswahili lessons
- Support individual learners and small groups during classroom activities
- Prepare and organise teaching materials, displays, and learning resources
- Facilitate games, songs, storytelling, and other interactive language-learning activities
- Assist with assessment tasks, record-keeping, and monitoring learner progress
- Support Kiswahili-themed events, assemblies, celebrations, and school projects
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Participate in team meetings, professional learning opportunities, and wider school activities
- Contribute to a culture of curiosity, creativity, and respect for language and culture
- Uphold Woodland Star’s mission, values, safeguarding policies, and Behaviour Code
