Our client in the Wines & Spirits Distribution sector is seeking to recruit a highly experienced and results-driven Key Accounts Manager with proven expertise in supplying alcoholic beverages to supermarkets and modern trade outlets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key supermarket accounts, driving sales growth, overseeing product listings, ensuring effective in-store execution, and leading merchandisers and promoters to achieve monthly sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow key supermarket and modern trade accounts.
  • List new products with supermarket head offices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with procurement teams and store managers.
  • Follow up on payments and ensure timely collections.
  • Drive achievement of monthly sales targets (individual & team).
  • Launch and promote new brands within supermarkets and modern trade outlets.
  • Develop strong visibility and promotional execution in stores.
  • Handle all supermarket tiers, including hypermarkets.
  • Conduct regular store visits to ensure: Adequate stock levels, Proper product placement and display, Timely order placement and Execution by merchandisers as per schedule.
  • Supervise and guide junior team members including sales merchandisers and promoters.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure delivery of set KPIs.
  • Manage customer inventory levels.
  • Oversee order placement and track deliveries.
  • Ensure smooth replenishment processes.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
  • Provide strategic insights to management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Sales, Marketing or related field).
  • 5 - 10 years’ sales experience in alcoholic beverages distribution to: Supermarkets, Modern trade outlets and Fuel stations.
  • Strong knowledge of wines and spirits.
  • Proven experience listing products with supermarket head offices.
  • Experience handling hypermarkets and multiple supermarket tiers.
  • Demonstrated track record in achieving sales targets.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Leadership and team management ability.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Valid Driving Licence (Mandatory).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: KES 80,000 Gross (Depending on Experience)
  • Transport Allowance (Company Provided)
  • Communication Allowance (Company Provided)
