General Purpose

Our client, a thriving dental clinic with branches in Nairobi & Mombasa, is seeking an IT Manager to define and manage the organization's overall technology vision by ensuring that IT systems and infrastructure effectively support business operations and future growth.

Location: Ridgeways, Kiambu Road | Gross Salary: Ksh. 140,000

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support in building and maintaining positive relationships with the company's customers by supporting the smooth running of the Information Systems and Technology that supports quality service to the customer.
  • Proactively seek challenges that may hinder good customer experience and look for ways in which the company's Information Systems and Technology can support in addressing them.
  • Be conversant with the needs, wants, and preferences of customers to inform on the Information Systems and Technology that will support fulfilling them.
  • Develop, implement and manage the Information Systems and Technology budget to cater to organizational needs in an effective manner.
  • Source for cost-effective supplies for the company's Information Systems and Technology needs, ensuring optimal utility and value for money.
  • Forecast the future needs of the company in terms of Information Systems and Technologies, identifying the required resources and strategically marketing and new stakeholders to secure them.
  • Proactively come up with innovative information systems and technology programs to aid in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and overall work efficiency.
  • Establish measures necessary to run checks and audits on the company's Information systems and technology programs to ensure their efficacy and their seamless operation.
  • Update, enhance, and release on new developments in the company's information systems and technology.
  • Ensure the seamless running of the company servers, making sure that backups are taking place and information is being stored as necessary to aid in knowledge management.
  • Ensure the continuous and effective running of the company's internet and intranet services, taking preventive and corrective measures as needed to ensure communication is maintained.
  • Manage major incidents, identify root cause of problems and propose solutions.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for information systems and technology, ensuring that all employees are conversant with them and follow them.
  • Develop guide on troubleshooting in the administration of information systems and technologies, making these accessible to staff members to aid in resolving minor issues.
  • Ensure the security of the company's information systems and technology tools, including the security of data access, and all other tools, equipment, and devices.
  • Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions.
  • Oversee the implementation of IT projects and ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and communicate a disaster management plan to ensure the safety of the organization's data and information in case of a crisis.
  • Advise on the hardware needed for the effective running of the operations of the company, ensuring the safety, security, and accountability for these.
  • Keep track of all information systems and technology equipment, devices, and other tools, ensuring that purchase, issuance, and disposal are done in line with the laid-down processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for regular maintenance and/or servicing of all the information systems and technology equipment, devices, and tools.
  • Manage relationships with third-party technology vendors.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure initiatives are aligned with business needs.
  • Prepare and submit pertinent reports as needed.

  • Proven experience with enterprise systems, cloud platforms, cybersecurity frameworks, and IT governance.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
