The IT Associate will also be responsible for maintaining and monitoring hardware, software, and network systems, ensuring that all IT resources are functioning optimally and supporting the organization's overall goals.

Key Responsibilities

IT Support and Troubleshooting

  • Provide technical support to internal users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system errors and IT-related problems, ensuring minimal disruption to business activities.
  • Respond to service desk tickets and resolve issues in a timely manner, escalating to higher-level support if necessary.

System Administration and Maintenance

  • Administer and maintain IT systems, including user access management, software installation, and system configuration.
  • Monitor and maintain internal network systems, servers, and workstations to ensure reliable operation.
  • Regularly back up data and system configurations to safeguard against loss.

User Account and Access Management

  • Manage user accounts, including creating, modifying, and disabling user access in line with company policies.
  • Assign and manage permissions for internal systems and software based on user roles and responsibilities.

System Updates and Security

  • Ensure systems and applications are regularly updated with the latest patches and security updates.
  • Monitor and assist with the implementation of security measures, such as firewalls, anti-virus software, and encryption tools.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain clear and detailed documentation for all systems, processes, and user configurations.
  • Report system performance, incident resolutions, and support activity regularly to the IT Manager.

Process Improvement

  • Suggest and implement improvements in IT support processes to increase efficiency and reduce response times.
  • Implement IT support best practices to streamline system administration and support workflows.

Training and User Education

  • Assist in developing and delivering training materials for users on IT systems and security best practices.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on new systems, tools, and IT policies.

Inventory and Asset Management

  • Assist in managing IT inventory, including hardware, software licenses, and accessories.
  • Maintain records of hardware and software in use, ensuring timely renewals and updates.

IT Procurement

  • Assist with the procurement of IT hardware, software, and services, ensuring that purchases align with business needs and budget constraints.
  • Coordinate with vendors to evaluate, select, and procure the necessary IT equipment and services.
  • Monitor the performance of IT vendors to ensure that they meet service level agreements (SLAs) and maintain the quality of service.

Collaboration and Team Support

  • Collaborate with other IT team members to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
  • Assist in the onboarding process by setting up workstations and ensuring all necessary software is installed for new employees.

Backup and Recovery

  • Implement and maintain regular data backup schedules for critical systems and business data.
  • Monitor the success of backup processes, ensuring all backups are completed successfully and stored securely.
  • Conduct periodic recovery tests to verify that data restoration processes are functioning as expected.
  • Develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan, including procedures for restoring systems and services in the event of a major disruption.

Incident Management

  • Respond to and resolve IT incidents promptly, following the organization’s incident management process.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support or external vendors as needed.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications or related field
  • 1+ years of experience in IT support, infrastructure management, or related roles.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and data protection regulations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently when required.
  • Good understanding of cloud and mobile technology
  • Experience with programming and scripting languages
