Our client – UNFCU, is a not-for-profit cooperative with a mission to serve the financial needs of the UN community which comprises over 200,000 members globally. UNFCU has an opening for the position of IT Analyst II - Support at the Nairobi office.
Reporting to the Manager, Data Center, the IT Analyst will support users and deliver reliable network services that enable the organization’s business operations, including the configuration and maintenance of PCs, servers, telecommunications, and related systems. IT Analyst II – Support is as critical midlevel role responsible for the stable operation of an organization's IT infrastructure.
Description
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Regardless of seniority or role, uphold UNFCU’s mission, core values, and guiding principles by providing an exceptional service experience to colleagues and members alike through consistent demonstration of our service excellence behaviors
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely problem remedies
- Provide onsite or remote support for users in UNFCU global offices
- Install, configure, and maintain applications and system software as required by the organization
- Support marketing websites and digital banking technologies, including but not limited to Apple OS, digital signage (Codigo), Adobe graphical design suite, IIS, .Net, and HTML integrations
- Configure, patch, and maintain Windows domain user accounts as well as physical and virtual x86 systems
- Stay current with emerging and evolving technologies
- Manage time and maintain service record
- Provide documentation for organization specified system configurations, operation run books, policies and procedures
- Follow the organization’s data protection and network securities and antivirus policies
- Participate in Credit Union training and development programs
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and UNFCU’s Code of Ethics & Business Conduct
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers (Windows, Linux, or macOS). (physical and virtual), routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely problem remedies by providing Tier 2/3 technical support, managing Active Directory (user accounts/permissions), and training staff on new systems.
- Implementing cybersecurity protocols, patching of endpoints and servers, managing VPNs and ensuring compliance by conducting regular vulnerability scans and reports.
- Designing and executing regular data backups through automated backup schedules (on- premises and cloud) and disaster recovery plans to prevent data loss ensure business
- Using monitoring tools to ensure 99.9% uptime for critical systems like ERPs and advise management on necessary hardware/software upgrades to meet future business goals.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
3-5 years of relevant professional IT work experience
Relevant professional technical certifications preferred such as MCSA, CCNA, RHCSA or similar
Networking: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or CCNP, CompTIA Network+
Security: CompTIA Security+, ISC2 (Certified in Cybersecurity CC)
Cloud: AWS Certified Sys Ops Administrator, Microsoft Azure Administrator
Virtualization (VMWare/Hyper-V), CompTIA Server+
Linux/ Unix (Redhat, Ubuntu, CentOS) - Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA
More Details on Experience
Basic to intermediate networking or cloud knowledge (Microsoft Azure, CISCO, etc)
