Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage an influencer marketing strategy (macro, micro & nano influencers) that aligns with MOGO’s marketing campaigns and brand positioning in Kenya. (See Kenyan market influencer roles: e.g., “identify new brand ambassadors on social media …” in Nairobi roles.) MyJobMag+2Corporate Staffing+2
  • Identify, vet and shortlist influencers and content creators across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook) relevant to our target segments (e.g., vehicle owners, boda/tuk-tuk drivers, youth, working professionals).
  • Negotiate partnership terms, contracts and deliverables with influencers and talent agencies; ensure compliance with brand guidelines and legal/contractual frameworks. Jaabz+1
  • Lead influencer campaign execution: briefing, coordinating creative assets, scheduling posts, tracking content cadence, and liaising with content team/videographer for asset creation.
  • Monitor, measure and report on influencer campaign performance (engagement, reach, conversions/lift to leads or applications, cost per acquisition, ROI). Provide insights and recommend optimisation.
  • Maintain and grow an influencer database, track performance history, maintain budgets and ensure timely payments and contract renewals.
  • Collaborate with Digital, Paid Media, Content Strategy, PR and Field Marketing teams to align influencer outreach with broader campaigns (for example, offline activations, branch events, field marketer visits, social media pushes).
  • Stay abreast of trending creators, social media formats (Reels, Shorts, Lives), platform algorithms and influencer marketing best practices in the Kenyan/East African context.
  • Manage crises or brand-risk issues relating to influencer content (e.g., off-brand behaviour, negative mentions) and escalate appropriately.
  • Prepare periodic reports (monthly, quarterly) for senior management showing influencer contribution to brand metrics, lead funnel, marketing ROI and lessons learned for the next cycle.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies or related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in influencer marketing, brand partnerships or digital marketing.
  • Proven track record of concepting, executing and measuring influencer campaigns.
  • Strong network/understanding of Kenyan social media ecosystem, creators and digital trends.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyse influencer campaign metrics and derive actionable insights.
  • Organized, able to manage multiple campaigns, budgets and relationships concurrently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets) and familiarity with influencer tracking tools or social analytics platforms.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for storytelling, brand alignment and content performance
