HSE Officer at P.N. Mashru LTD

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compliance & Systems: Maintain the HSE management system and ensure alignment with OSHA 2007, DOSH, WIBA, NEMA, and client standards.
  • Risk & Inspections: Conduct regular workplace audits, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), hazard identifications, and risk assessments.
  • Fleet & Operational Safety: Oversee safety across workshops, loading zones, fleet operations, cargo lashing, and defensive driving practices.
  • Incidents & Emergencies: Lead incident investigations, maintain safety records, and manage emergency preparedness (fire drills, spill response).
  • Training & Culture: Deliver driver/staff HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and continuous safety awareness.
  • Environmental & Facilities: Monitor waste, spill prevention, PPE compliance, and maintenance of safety equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant HSE experience, preferably within transport, logistics, fleet, manufacturing, petroleum or industrial operations.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent HSE certification will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Kenyan OSHA 2007, WIBA, NEMA and applicable HSE regulations.
  • Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, HSE audits and safety training.
  • Good knowledge of fire safety, first aid, emergency response and environmental management.
  • Strong report-writing, communication and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and conduct regular field/site inspections.
  • Valid driving licence will be an advantage.
