Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership and management of the nursing department
  • Ensure consistent delivery of safe, high-quality and patient-centered care across all departments
  • Develop, implement and monitor nursing policies, procedures and standards
  • Supervise, mentor and evaluate nursing staff performance to drive performance and accountability
  • Ensure optimal staffing levels and efficient deployment of nursing personnel
  • Coordinate training, continuous professional development and capacity building
  • Ensure compliance with Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) standards and other regulatory requirements
  • Oversee infection prevention and control programs
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits and accreditation processes
  • Manage departmental budgets, supplies and cost controls
  • Collaborate with medical, administrative and support teams to enhance service delivery

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Registered and licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) with a valid practicing license
  • Minimum of 8–10 years’ nursing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in hospital operations, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
