Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement collections strategies aligned to weekly repayment models.
  • Lead, manage, and coach internal debt collection teams and external agencies.
  • Monitor and control portfolio at risk (PAR), delinquency ratios, and recovery performance.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly collections targets are achieved.
  • Oversee early, mid, and late-stage delinquency management processes.
  • Review and approve repayment plans, restructures, and write-off recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with credit policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage repossession and asset recovery processes where applicable.
  • Handle escalated customer cases, disputes, and sensitive recovery matters.
  • Analyze collection trends and data to improve recovery strategies.
  • Prepare and present regular collections performance reports to senior management.
  • Collaborate with credit, sales, and operations teams to improve loan quality.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in credit management or debt collections within microfinance.
  • Strong understanding of revolving credit and weekly repayment models.
  • Proven track record in reducing PAR and improving recovery rates.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and people management skills.
  • Knowledge of debt recovery processes, credit policy enforcement, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and decision-making abilities.
  • High integrity, resilience, and customer-focused approach.
