General Purpose
Our client, a leading food manufacturer is looking to hire a Fleet Data & Cost Assistant to assist in the efficient financial management and control of the company's fleet operations (trucks, management vehicles, delivery vans/proboxes), ensuring optimal cost management, accurate financial reporting, budget adherence, and compliance while supporting timely & safe distribution of products.
- Prepare, monitor, and track the annual fleet operating & capital budget
- Analyze fleet-related expenditures (fuel, maintenance, tyres, insurance, tolls, driver allowances, etc.)
- Perform monthly/quarterly variance analysis and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Manage fuel card program, reconcile fuel consumption & identify misuse/anomalies.
- Verify, process, and reconcile all fleet-related invoices (workshop, spares, fuel, insurance, leasing)
- Maintain accurate records of all fleet financial transactions
- Generate daily/weekly/monthly fleet financial & performance reports - Track key KPIs: fuel efficiency (km/ltr), cost per km, maintenance cost per vehicle, downtime cost
- Prepare management reports on fleet ROI, cost trends, and savings opportunities
- Support audit processes related to fleet expenses & assets
- Monitor vehicle utilization, idle time & route efficiency to assess their impact on cost. Track & control accident-related costs, insurance claims & third-party recoveries
- Maintain updated fleet database & financial records in ERP/fleet management software
- Input & validate all financial data related to fleet operations
- Assist in the implementation & usage of telematics/GPS systems for better cost visibility
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced – pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
- Strong analytical & numerical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Creative, able to make decisions, and an independent thinker.
- Must possess knowledge & proficiency in telematic/GPS System
- Knowledge of ERP systems and fleet management software
- Understanding of transport & vehicle costing (fuel, maintenance, depreciation)
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
