Company Overview

Allied Talent Partners (ATP) is a mission-driven, not-for-profit talent marketplace focused on connecting vetted, experienced professionals to high-impact opportunities in energy access and sustainable development across Africa. ATP specializes in fixed-term, deliverable-driven engagements, helping organizations access the right expertise on demand.

Project Overview

The client is seeking an Executive Business Partner / Chief of Staff to act as a trusted extension of the Managing Director, operating independently across executive support, priority management, stakeholder coordination, governance and follow-through. The successful candidate will be expected to absorb context quickly, anticipate needs, handle confidential matters appropriately, and exercise sound judgement on when to act independently, when to consult, when to slow down and when to escalate.

The role serves as the operational and strategic glue around the Managing Director and a lean team, combining process management, scheduling and communications, fund governance, stakeholder access and rigorous follow-through. Relevant backgrounds may include senior executive support, fund operations, governance, investor relations, business operations and management consulting. Learning agility, discretion, trusted execution and a low-ego, hands-on approach are more important than following a conventional career path.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run a high-performing executive office spanning administration, fund operations, governance, investor engagement and follow-through.
  • Enable the Managing Director to focus on capital raising, portfolio relationships and strategic investment decisions.
  • Own diary management, inbox management, correspondence and meeting preparation with exceptional discipline.
  • Build relationships with investor offices and executive-support counterparts to secure and coordinate high-value engagements.
  • Coordinate fund-governance and company-secretarial workflows with the fund administrator.
  • Progress board resolutions, meeting cycles, materials, records, actions and deadlines on time.
  • Translate fund objectives into coordinated priorities and practical workflows.
  • Keep decisions, commitments and team activity moving.
  • Act on the Managing Director’s behalf where appropriate and escalate issues requiring executive input.
  • Maintain the executive memory through concise briefings, communications, meeting notes, decision and action logs, and decision-support materials.
  • Sustain trusted relationships across board, investor, funder, investee, partner and executive-office stakeholders.

Experience Required

  • Strong track record in senior executive support, business partnering, fund operations, governance, company secretarial, investor relations, business operations or management consulting for senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated success operating independently as a trusted extension of a senior principal.
  • Proven ability to anticipate needs, manage competing priorities and confidential matters, and progress work with sound judgement and limited supervision.
  • Experience coordinating complex multi-stakeholder workstreams and driving decisions, actions and deadlines to completion.
  • Governance exposure is advantageous.
  • Credible engagement across board, investor, funder, investee, partner and executive-office stakeholders.
  • Ability to secure meetings and move priorities forward with judgement and persistence.
  • Investment or development finance exposure is preferred but not essential.
  • Evidence of succeeding in a lean, high-trust environment.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar subject matter quickly, translate ambiguity into practical structure and stay close to execution rather than operating only at an advisory level.

Technical Requirements

  • Strong executive-office systems for scheduling, inboxes, correspondence, meeting preparation, records and confidential information.
  • Ability to learn fund operations quickly.
  • Ability to coordinate governance workflows including board and company-secretarial processes, resolutions, fund administrators and investor offices.
  • Strong digital fluency across document, presentation, spreadsheet, collaboration and task-management tools.
  • Ability to produce executive materials, maintain accurate trackers and adopt new systems quickly.

Language Requirements

  • English required.

Soft Skills

  • Peer-level judgement and autonomy.
  • Ability to read context, anticipate needs, act independently, consult appropriately and escalate only when executive input is required.
  • Exceptional discretion and integrity when handling confidential personal, commercial, investor and portfolio matters.
  • Low-ego, hands-on working style.
  • Genuine appetite to learn.
  • Comfortable managing diary and inbox details, solving process gaps and coordinating senior-level work.
  • Clear, concise and relationship-oriented communication.
  • Confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
  • Tact and persistence to influence without authority and build alignment
