Browns Plantations tea estates in Kenya are a leading producer and exporter of premium Kenyan tea, committed to sustainable farming practices, upholding human rights, environmental stewardship, and community empowerment.
Role Summary:
An entry-level management role designed to learn the intricacies of large-scale field operations, including land preparation, pruning, plucking rounds, and general estate upkeep.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Supervision: Supervise daily field operations including plucking, pruning, tipping, and infilling of young tea.
- Resource Allocation: Organize and deploy labor to specific fields based on daily harvesting schedules and weather conditions.
- Crop Forecasting: Assist in estimating weekly and monthly crop yields to inform factory processing schedules.
- Infrastructure: Oversee the maintenance of field roads, drainage systems, and irrigation infrastructure to prevent erosion and waterlogging.
- Reporting: Prepare daily operational reports detailing labor attendance, crop off-take, and field conditions for the Estate Manager.
YOUR PROFILE
Degree Holder preferred Or A/L Pass with NIPM Plantations Management Course (Advantage)
Strong Leadership Potential Excellent Command of English
Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and effective team coordination skills.
Ability to Communicate in Sinhala & Tamil is an advantage
