Job Summary

The English/Literature Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons in English Language and Literature while promoting learners' communication, literacy, critical thinking, and creative writing skills in accordance with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective English and Literature lessons aligned with the CBC curriculum.
• Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, assessments, and instructional materials.
• Assess learners' academic progress and provide timely feedback.
• Foster reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills among learners.
• Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and appreciation of literature.
• Integrate technology and learner-centered teaching approaches into classroom instruction.
• Maintain accurate learner records, assessment reports, and academic progress reports.
• Establish a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.
• Participate in co-curricular activities, departmental meetings, and school events.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding learner progress.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the School Administration.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Education with specialization in English and Literature.
• Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• Trained in the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
• Minimum of three (3) years' teaching experience.
• Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong commitment to academic excellence and learner development.
