Position Summary
The Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Manager will oversee the administration and strategic direction of the EMS department, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and performance management.
- Oversee emergency vehicles, medical supplies, and equipment compliance.
- Liaise with the Training and Ambulance Service Committee on business and performance matters.
- Manage ambulance service agreements and contracts.
- Develop and monitor departmental budgets and identify funding opportunities.
- Supervise EMT students during clinicals in collaboration with the course coordinator.
- Investigate contract performance issues in coordination with HR.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Engage with stakeholders to resolve operational issues and improve service delivery.
- Advise the CEO on EMS-related matters and recommend policy improvements.
- Represent the department in public forums and prepare reports and proposals.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Emergency Medical Care, Public Health, Health Management, or related field.
- BSc in Nursing (KRN); Higher Diploma in Nursing is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, with at least 5 in senior management.
- Strong experience in Accident & Emergency or ICU settings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of emergency medical services and evacuation procedures.
