County Government of Kisumu invites applications from suitably qualified, motivated and pro- active individuals to fill vacancies in the following position:
Responsibilities or duties
- Developing and implementing frameworks for effective public participation in governance.
- Ensuring citizens are involved in planning, budgeting, and policy-making processes.
- Organizing public forums, stakeholder consultations, and civic education programs.
- Promoting inclusivity by ensuring marginalized groups (youth, women, persons with disabilities) are engaged.
- Formulating policies, guidelines, and strategies related to public participation and civic engagement.
- Supporting counties in developing and implementing public participation mechanisms.
- Providing technical assistance and capacity building to county officials.
- Ensuring public access to information and government decisions.
- Building institutional capacity for citizen engagement at county and community levels.
- Tracking implementation of public participation initiatives across counties.
- Fostering partnerships that enhance citizen participation and governance.
- Ensuring operationalization of service delivery in all the devolved units in the County Government of Kisumu, Sub Counties Wards and village
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Be a Kenyan Citizen
- Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Public Administration; Business Administration or Social Sciences or any equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
- Masters Degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Administration or Development Management or any equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
- Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Proficiency in computer application skills;
Experience needed
- Cumulative service period of ten (10) relevant years' work experience, three (3) of which should have been at senior management level position;
Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)
- Terms Of Service: Permanent And Pensionable
- Annual Leave: 30 working days
- Medical Cover: As provided by the County Government of Kisumu
- Demonstrated a high degree of professional and managerial ability as reflected in work performance and results.
- Those with foreign Degrees should have them authenticated by Commission for University Education (CUE). In addition, during the interview, they will be required to submit their academic certificates authenticated by the issuing institutions.
- Chapter 6 requirements will only be required from successful candidates upon offer of job and not at the application stage.
- The minority, marginalized groups and Persons with Disabilities who meets the minimum requirements are encouraged to apply.
- The Board does not charge any fees for interviews and processing of applications.
