County Government of Kisumu invites applications from suitably qualified, motivated and pro- active individuals to fill vacancies in the following position:

Responsibilities or duties

• Initiating, formulating and implementing the County policies on ECDE;
• Monitoring and implementing the curricular, co-curricular and school feeding program;
• Co-ordinating and evaluating ECDE programs and projects;
• Preparing and implementing the departmental annual work plans and budgetary requirements;
• Preparing ECDE strategies and give technical advice and guidance to personnel in lower cadre;
• Implementing the ECDE staff training and appraisals;
• Promoting awareness on early childhood needs and demands to local communities and parents;
• Preparing and submitting quarterly and annual reports.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Bachelor Degree in any of the following disciplines: Education (ECDE option) or Bachelor Degree in Education with a Diploma in ECDE or equivalent qualification from a recognized in Kenya;
• Masters Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Education (ECDE option) or equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya;
• Proficiency in computer application;

Experience needed

• Cumulative service period of ten (10) relevant years' work experience, three (3) of which should have been at senior management level;
• Demonstrated a high degree of professional and managerial ability as reflected in work performance and results.

• Annual Leave: 30 working days
• Medical Cover: As provided by the Government of Kisumu
• Those with foreign Degrees should have them authenticated by Commission for University Education (CUE). In addition, during the interview, they will be required to submit their academic certificates authenticated by the issuing institutions.
