Description
The role is responsible for coordinating public awareness and sensitisation on trade remedies, unfair trade practices and the Trade Remedies Act, and training stakeholders on complaint procedures and import requirements.
Responsibilities
Job Description
- (i) Coordinating the Development and designing of public awareness and sensitization programmes;
- (ii) creation of public awareness and sensitization on unfair trade practices;
- (iii) Creating public awareness on the provisions of the Trade Remedies Act 2017;
- (iv) Train stakeholders on trade remedies;
- (v) Sensitize stakeholders on the essential elements of a trade remedies complaints and the process of lodging a trade remedy complaint;
- (vi) Sensitize stakeholders on sources of information on conditions applicable to products be to imported into Kenya;
- (vii) Initiate the development of a public awareness policy for the Agency;
- (viii) Prepare a work plan and budget for the Department; and
- (ix) Prepare reports on public awareness activities.
Person specification
- (i) Cumulative service period of fifteen (15) years, three (3) of which must be at the grade of Assistant Director or a comparable position;
- (ii) A Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Taxation, Finance, Law or related disciplines from a recognized institution;
- (iii) A Masters degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Taxation, Finance, Trade Law, Customs or related disciplines from a recognized Institution;
- (iv) Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
- (v) Membership of a relevant professional body where applicable
- (vi) Practicing License where applicable;
