Background
The Public Service Commission (PSC) of Kenya is an independent constitutional commission established under Article 233 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. The Commission is responsible for overseeing human resource management and development within the public service. Its mandate includes recruitment, promotions, discipline, human capital development, and ensuring the values and principles of public service are upheld across government institutions.
The Commission plays a central role in strengthening professionalism, integrity, and accountability in the public sector. Through effective leadership, institutional oversight, and transparent recruitment processes, the PSC contributes to building a competent and responsive public service capable of delivering quality services to citizens.
In line with its mandate to strengthen institutional leadership and operational effectiveness within the public sector, the Public Service Commission invites applications from qualified and competent individuals to fill several vacant positions within the Commission. The Deputy Commission Secretary – Organization Design and Career Management supports the development of organizational structures and career progression frameworks within the public service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinating development and review of organizational structures within public institutions
- Supporting implementation of career management and progression frameworks
- Advising ministries and state departments on organization design and workforce planning
- Monitoring implementation of public service organizational reforms
- Supporting institutional capacity development initiatives
- Coordinating workforce planning and job evaluation processes
- Reviewing organizational design proposals from government institutions
- Preparing reports on organizational development and career management initiatives
- Coordinating development and review of organizational structures within public institutions
- Supporting implementation of career management and progression frameworks
- Advising ministries and state departments on organization design and workforce planning
