A Credit Supervisor manages credit operations, including team leadership, credit policy implementation, and risk assessment to ensure financial stability and compliance.
Team & Policy Management: Supervise credit team members, train them in job duties and company policies, and implement and enforce company credit policies and procedures. Credit Risk Management: Oversee the evaluation of customer creditworthiness and risk, manage the credit portfolio, and develop strategies to minimize bad debt and financial losses. Process Management: Ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the credit department, streamline processes, and create reports for senior management on credit performance and trends. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and other stakeholders, and resolve customer issues and disputes related to credit. Compliance & Data Oversight: Ensure adherence to credit policies, regulatory standards, and legal requirements, and supervise the recording and safekeeping of all important credit documents. Financial Monitoring: Track loan payments, manage overdue accounts and collections, and analyze market trends to assess economic factors impacting credit risk.
Leadership & Teamwork: Ability to motivate and manage a diverse team, foster teamwork, and coordinate activities within the credit department. Analytical & Critical Thinking: A strong ability to analyze data, conduct credit analysis, create credit scoring models, and make sound, effective decisions. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for negotiating with clients, presenting reports, and collaborating with other teams. Technical Proficiency: Expertise in financial analysis, accounting principles, credit management software, and data analysis tools. Knowledge of Regulations: A deep understanding of relevant credit laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance. Customer Service & Negotiation: Ability to effectively manage customer relationships, resolve conflicts, and negotiate payment terms and loan agreements.
