Job Summary
The Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, creating a positive learning environment, and supporting the academic, social, and personal development of learners. The role involves lesson planning, classroom management, learner assessment, and participation in school activities to promote educational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Prepare and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments to meet learners' needs.
- Promote active learning through innovative and learner-centred teaching methods.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Learner Assessment & Support
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate learners' academic progress.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and performance.
- Provide academic guidance and support to learners.
- Identify learners requiring additional support and implement appropriate interventions.
Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and encourage positive learner behaviour.
- Ensure the classroom is safe, organized, and conducive to learning.
- Supervise learners during lessons and other school activities.
School Participation
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, and co-curricular activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding learner progress.
- Uphold the school's policies, values, and professional standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development programmes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching registration/licensing where applicable.
- Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
Experience
- Previous teaching experience is an added advantage.
