Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Officer Anaesthetist to join our team at Oasis Healthcare, Kakamega. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering anaesthesia and providing critical care support during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Administer anaesthesia safely and effectively to patients undergoing surgical and medical procedures.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and physiological status before, during, and after anaesthesia.
  • Manage airway, breathing, and circulation during anaesthesia.
  • Respond to emergencies and manage complications that may arise during anaesthesia.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of anaesthesia equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Clinical Medicine and Surgery with a specialization in Anaesthesia from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration and practice license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
  • Proven experience as a Clinical Officer Anaesthetist.
  • Proficiency in administering various types of anaesthesia (general, regional, local).
  • Strong knowledge of anaesthesia equipment and monitoring devices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in anaesthesia.
