Background

Responsibilities

The Clinical Instructor will be responsible for:

• Providing theoretical and practical instruction to nursing students in clinical settings.
• Supervising and evaluating student performance during clinical rotations.
• Developing and implementing clinical teaching plans and strategies.
• Ensuring adherence to patient safety standards and ethical practices.
• Collaborating with clinical facility staff to provide a conducive learning environment.
• Assisting in the development and review of curriculum and teaching materials.
• Participating in faculty meetings and other university activities.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution.
• A minimum KCSE mean grade of C+ or its equivalent.
• A valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers Council (COC) of Kenya.
• Clinical experience in a healthcare setting will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrated proficiency in modern teaching methods, including the use of technology and simulation tools in clinical education.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of current nursing practices and educational methodologies.

• A Master's degree in Nursing or a related field.
• A Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Current registration and licensure with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Proven experience in clinical nursing practice.
• Experience in teaching or clinical instruction is an added advantage.
