Alupe University is hiring an assistant lecturer to deliver lectures, develop course materials, contribute to teaching, research, and community service. The role is based in Busia and experience in university teaching, is required.
Responsibilities or duties
Duties and responsibilities at this level entails; –
- Teach undergraduate courses in Physiotherapy.
- Prepare teaching and learning materials.
- Set, invigilate and mark examinations and assignments.
- Conduct research under the guidance of senior academic staff.
- Supervise undergraduate projects and experiential learning.
- Prepare student progress reports.
- Publish scholarly papers and contribute to academic books and other scholarly outputs.
- Participate in departmental activities and community engagement.
For appointment to this position/grade a candidate must have:
- Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from recognized and accredited universities;
- Registered or registerable for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physical Therapy or related discipline in a recognized university;
- Valid Annual Practicing License issued by Physiotherapy Council of Kenya (PCK);
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications;
- Evidence of potential for university teaching, research and scholarly publication.
Experience needed
Experience in university teaching is required.
Successful Candidates shall be required to submit valid clearances from the following bodies;
- Kenya Revenue Authority
- Higher Education Loans Board
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
- Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct)
- Registered Credit Reference Bureau
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.
