AAA-Growers is one of the leading Kenyan exporters of Vegetables, Flowers, and Avocados. We are seeking to recruit a skilled and result driven Technical Lead -Irrigation Equipment to be based in Head Office, Nairobi.

Job objective

As a Technical Lead - Irrigation Equipment, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership in the design, installation, commissioning, and optimization of irrigation systems across our Flowers and Vegetables farms, ensuring all irrigation infrastructure meets agronomic, operational, and quality standards while supporting the Heads of Irrigation and the broader production teams.

This role is critical in ensuring efficient water use, high system performance, and alignment with agronomic and production targets.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Lead the design, installation, and commissioning of drip irrigation and fertigation systems
• Develop technical specifications, layouts, and SOPs for irrigation infrastructure
• Monitor system performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Conduct technical audits and ensure compliance with agronomic and environmental standards
• Provide technical support, training, and mentorship to irrigation teams
• Coordinate irrigation projects, budgets, and supplier engagements
• Champion innovation and adoption of modern irrigation technologies

Your profile

• Graduate in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Water Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–7 years’ experience in a similar role within a flower/vegetable farm or irrigation material supplier
• Strong expertise in irrigation system design, fertigation, and hydraulic calculations
• Solid understanding of how irrigation systems influence EC, PH, crop nutrition, and water management
• Experience with different fertigation systems; Priva, Hoogendoorn, Netafim, Rivulis etc.
• Proven project management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead, advise, and collaborate across multiple teams
• Willingness to travel to farms
