JOB DETAILS:

Responsibilities The Team Leader (TL) will be responsible for the overall management of the assessment team, and delivery of the final report. In addition, the TL will coordinate the assessment activities and ensure the production and completion of an assessment report in conformance with the scope and timelines. The TL will ensure data integrity, high quality analysis, written reports and report integration. S/he is also responsible for quality assurance and timeliness of all deliverables. All team members report to the Team Leader.

Qualifications Required Education
• Advanced degree (master's/Ph.D.) in international development or a related field in the social sciences. An advanced degree in a non-social science will be considered if it is matched by experience leading assessments/evaluations, especially in the area of localization.
• Bachelor's degree in international development or a related field in the social sciences with 5 years of additional experience. A bachelor's degree in a non-social science will be considered if it is matched by experience leading assessments/evaluations, especially in the area of localization.

Required Experience
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the following:
• Designing and implementing research and assessments/evaluations in a developing world context
• Leading, supervising, and managing assessment/evaluation teams
• Supervising data collection and teams of field workers
• Designing and implementing qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methods
• Experience assessing/evaluating or working on localization initiatives is strongly preferred but is not required
• Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills; demonstrated ability to work with donors, donor projects, implementing partners, host country governments, and local stakeholders
• Ability to travel to and throughout Kenya to conduct assessment activities
• Superior written and oral English communication skills, ability in Swahili appreciated but not required
• Strong presentation skills and experience in adapting oral and written research outputs to present in non-technical language to diverse audiences
