Duties and Responsibilities
• Representing the department of social welfare and civic empowerment
• Mainstreaming disability issues and assisting in registration, screening and referrals of persons with disabilities. (PWD's).
• Sensitization of improved welfare for the elderly persons.
• Capacity building of community groups on economic empowerment, leadership and management.
• Data collection on all registered groups.
• Regular visits and support for registered children's home.
• Handling GBV (Gender Based Violence) issues through counselling and referrals.
• Prepare weekly and monthly report on field visits, activities and events which are
• being undertaken in social welfare programs.
• Represent the Department at seminars and conferences related to social welfare in Sub-Counties.
• Represent the department at Sub-County Human Development related meetings such as sector working groups.
• Provide advice and support to the technical staff working within the respective field offices.
• Support in updating and sharing with staff recent developments and knowledge tools in the areas of interventions.
• Monitor and report on social safeguards on County projects in your Sub-County
• Attend conferences and seminars as directed by your supervisor.
• Ensure gender integration in the day-to-day activities.
• Undertake any other duty that may be given from time to time from Social Welfare office.

Requirement for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must;
• have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in any of the following disciplines: Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Mental Health, Counseling or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
