As a Mechanical technician, you will be responsible for fabricating, fitting, installing, and maintaining plant equipment and the general infrastructure of the plant.

MAIN FUNCTIONS

  • Operate all workshop machines; including but not limited to Lathe machines, milling machines, drilling machines, Power saws, welding machines TIG, arc welding, etc. to manufacture high-precision machine components as required.
  • Ensure that material and spare parts are available and in good condition before starting maintenance activities as per the work plan.
  • Ensure applicable maintenance procedures are followed with proper controls are in place and ensure a safe workplace.
  • Provide accurate records and close-out reports of all completed work as per company requirements, as requested and guided by the Supervisor.
  • Participates in troubleshooting of plant issues, as directed and guided by the Supervisor, and issue timely reports.
  • Review the Piping & Instrument Diagram and Drawings (P&IDs).
  • Fabrication and repair of aluminum cladding with the ability to work with the machinery and equipment related to the tasks.
  • Carrying out Autonomous Maintenance and Preventive maintenance on the workshop equipment to prevent their breakdown. Resolve breakdowns on workshop equipment if they occur.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the thermal power plant equipment as directed by the mechanical supervisor in line with safe work practices especially when we are having the maintenance of the Power plant machinery.

Desired Competencies

  • Diploma, Higher National Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Medical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years working experience in a busy factory workshop.
  • knowledge in design and manufacturing.
  • Maintenance experience in thermal equipment will be an added advantage.
  • Prompt and precise decision-making, adaptability, problem-solving, and analytical skills and a team player.
