JOB DETAILS:
Measurement, Cost Estimation and Progress Monitoring Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

• Project Estimation strategy & policy development and implementation.
• Preparation of Project Bids and cost Estimates while overseeing the project estimation process.
• Planning and coordinating company projects ensuring cost lines are met while closely working with the project management team to establish new and promising projects to the company.
• Providing line management to cost estimators
• Project Information and data management
• Ensure legal contractual framework and compliance is maintained in the course of costing for bids
• Reviews project plans and specifications and advises on their completeness
• Preparation of monthly payments applications in a timely manner
• Preparation monitoring and updating of projects resourced cashflow
• Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the CEO

Job Requirements and Key competencies
• A Postgraduate degree in Civil/Building Engineering/ Architecture from a recognized University
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the estimation / commercials in the Construction Company
• MUST be a registered Engineer with relevant country/regional body
• Demonstrable knowledge in Project estimation and budgeting
• Demonstrable cost planning and management experience
• Proficient with computers, estimating and scheduling software programs
• Management and Supervision Skills with ability to coordinate multinational teams
• Understanding of local regulatory laws and rules governing construction
• Excellent financial management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to analyze situations critically and make sound decisions for the project delivery.
• Knowledge in MS Projects, Gantt Chart Development, PERT, PRIMAVERA programs or equivalents is an added advantage.
