Head of Department -ICT & Engineering

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Dean – School of ICT, Media and Engineering the position holder will be responsible for:
• Oversee program development and review process.
• Participate in approving all student admissions into various programs in the department.
• Receive new students registered in the department, orient and assist them to settle down.
• Overseeing all teaching, and examination processes; to ensure that quality standards are maintained.
• Managing the student’s progression, transition and eventual graduation.
• Monitoring class attendance by students and staff and timely resolutions of students and staff concerns.
• People management, including management of their performance, work attendance, leave, and discipline.
Qualifications & Experience
• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Information Technology or a related area from a recognized University. A PhD in a related field is desirable.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field from a recognized institution
• Must have at least three (3) years of teaching experience at University level
• At least a year’s management experience
