JOB DETAILS:

Reporting to Director Medical Services, the successful candidate will be responsible to ensure that all the hospital’s biomedical equipment are fully functional in line with established quality and safety standards and the Hospital’s objectives.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Inspect biomedical equipment and conduct routine maintenance in line with manufacturers’ recommendations and prepare the related compliance and calibration reports.
2. Diagnose problems when machinery breaks down, decide the best repair methods and ensure repairs are carried out in a timely manner
3. Service and replace faulty biomedical equipment
4. Ensure timely response to the job requests from the various departments
5. Recommend outsourcing of works that are beyond the scope of internal resources and supervise outsourced contractors on site
6. Requisition and ensure adequate stocks of supplies and equipment in the stores
7. Prepare the biomedical budget and monitor its implementation upon approval
8. Maintain up to date records of maintenance costs, incidents and procedures
9. Ensure adherence to the PPM schedule and health and safety standards
10. Hold daily and weekly operational meetings

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or any related field form a recognized institution.
2. Minimum of 8 years biomedical engineering experience with 3 years at management level.
