JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
The Application Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of banking applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver across the entire application life cycle (concept, design, build, deploy, test, release, and support)
• Provide technical and functional support to teams within the organisation, and to external clients when required
• Assist with systems integrations
• Maintain and update technical documents and procedures
• Develop reports for teams across the business
• Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutions
• Monitor and optimize application performance
• Explain technologies and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ensure application projects are built and documented in accordance with regulations and regulatory guidelines, including information security,
• privacy and other internal policies
• Recommend and challenge choices around the best application approaches to meet business needs
• Assist in application solution evaluation
• Assist in issue/defects resolution for related applications/systems
• Perform any other related duties as may be required
Capabilities & Skills:
• Expert in the Banking technology ecosystem, including development frameworks, and tools
• Specialist knowledge of banking applications and software (functional, technical, architecture, DB) in any of the following areas:
• Finacle Core Banking Solution
• SWIFT
• AML Solutions
• Document Management Systems
• Oracle HRMS
• Middleware Solution
• Any other Enterprise Systems
• Excellent practical programming skills (Java, PL/SQL, SQL, .Net)
• Understanding of the underlying technology platforms (preferably UNIX, Windows, and Oracle)
• Sound techno-functional understanding of ALM, AML and Risk Management
• Knowledge of relevant and recent technology areas in the BFSI space
• Awareness/Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks as applicable to the BFSI sector
• Knowledge of business continuity/disaster recovery planning processes and procedures
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
• University degree in Computer Science or related field
• Certification in Cloud, ITIL, and DevOps is an advantage
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in IT in the BFSI domain
• Experience in IT Application Security is an advantage
• Fluent in English and French (both verbal and written)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving skills
• Dedicated team player
• Strongly motivated and available to work outside normal hours
• Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
