Duties and Responsibilities
• Be responsible for the overall administration of a County Department to which he/she is assigned or re-assigned;
• Be responsible for needs of the local community and the functions and competences assigned to and transferred to the County;
• Facilitate a culture of public service and accountability in the county public service; COUNTY CHIEF OFFICERS
• Be performance oriented and focused on the objects of devolved government as set out in the Constitution;
• Be efficient and ensure that the County Departments align their roles and responsibilities with the priorities and objectives set out in the County’s policies and plans;
• Organize his/her department and other structures in a flexible way in order to respond to changing priorities and circumstances;
• Assign clear responsibilities for the management and coordination of the County department and functions;
• Allow participatory decision making as far as practicable;
• Provide an equitable, fair, open and non-discriminatory working environment;
• Submit quarterly reports of the respective department to the County Executive Committee through the respective CEC-Member and to the County Assembly through the County Secretary and to respect the oversight role of the County Assembly by giving information and honoring summons whenever required;
• Implement the policies and plans developed by the County Government;
• Provision of strategic policy direction for effective service delivery;
• To ensure departmental compliance with National Values and Principles of Governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution;
• Performance of any other functions conferred by the Constitution, National or County Legislation;
• He/ She will be responsible to the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for administration of a county department as provided under section 46; and
• Carry out any other function incidental to any of the assigned functions and/or as may be assigned from time to time by the County Governor.
• Requirement for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must: -
Be a Kenyan citizen.
• Holds a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
• A Master’s degree or higher academic qualifications from a university recognized in Kenya will be an added advantage.
• Have vast knowledge and experience of not less than five (5) years in the relevant field, three (3) of which should be in a senior/managerial position in a large organization;
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of County development objectives of vision 2030;
• Be a strategic thinker and results-oriented;
• Have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills;
• Have capacity to work under pressure to meet strict timelines;
• Have ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity;
• Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the National Values and Principles of Governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010;
• Be Computer literate; and
• Satisfy the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

Duties And Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of Chief of Visitors Service, Nairobi, the incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks: Conduct tours of the United Nations Office at Nairobi

Conduct Tours And Briefings
• Conduct tours of the United Nations Office at Nairobi
• Give briefings and presentations about the United Nations and topics linked to the work of the UN (online or in-person).
• Explain the structure and current functions of the United Nations as well as rules of procedure of the Principal Organs of the United Nations and subsidiary bodies.
• Describe recent actions taken by United Nations bodies, especially UNEP and UN-Habitat and statements made by them or by the Secretary-General.
• Answer questions, precisely and diplomatically, concerning political, economic, and social matters connected with the work of the United Nations.
• Provide historical information regarding UNON and its buildings, including the significance of gifts donated by Member States and by other entities.
• Observe visitors' behavior and traffic on the tour route and report any security and safety concerns.
• Conduct special tours and briefings for new UN recruits, delegates, military personnel, visiting affiliates such as NGOs and corporate executives, VIP guests, and students from elementary to graduate level.
• Provide information adapted to the various cultural backgrounds, educational levels, and special interests of the groups visiting.

Preparatory Work
• Attend briefings provided by the Visitors Service in order to keep abreast of current developments and gets guidance on how to address certain issues.
• Review press releases and other official UN information material for information.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of events relating to political, security, humanitarian, human rights and development issues by monitoring daily situation reports as well as local and international news.
• Request and attend special briefings from high-ranking UN officials/experts on specific UN-related issues.
• Develop and update materials aimed at presenting the work of the UN to a broader public; or at promoting and marketing the Visitors Service vis-à-vis its target audiences.
• Engage with the Visitors Service's target audiences (via e-mail, social media, newsletters, etc.) in order to inform about the VS services and facilitate tours and briefings.
• Prepare and translate tours in different languages.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications/special skills
• A minimum of one year of experience in Public Communications is required.
• Profound knowledge of the history, structure and work of the United Nations is desirable
• High level of customer orientation and patience is desirable
• Good presentation skills and outgoing flexibility is desirable
• Flexibility to adapt working hours according to demand is desirable
• Photography and social networks writing is desirable

Languages
• Fluency in oral and written English, French and Chinese(Mandarin) is required. Knowledge of German and other UN languages is desirable

KEY OUTPUTS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Relationship Management
• Create alliances with universities for visibility, generating leads, and for partnering.
• Identify and improve channels of customer acquisition, beyond digital – alliances, agent network,
• Establish a meaningful and sustainable business relationship with key accounts (universities and agents contributing to business) to gain a high level of support and ambassadorship.
• In liaison with the Sales & Marketing team, participate in new business pitches, including onboarding of new agents (selling parties).
• Responsible for the development and achievement of sales through the direct sales channel.

Sales Campaigns
• In liaison with the Sales & Marketing team, participate in the development of campaign and activation plans, including budgeting, and innovative ways of reaching out to prospective customers students, etc. to generate qualified leads.
• Support event management in the execution of sales and activation campaigns.
• Develop and implement an engagement program, including sponsorship activities/events, for key accounts (Universities and channels).

Key Account Management
• In liaison with the Sales & Marketing team, continuously optimize the lead funnel and sales pipeline, improving return on investment, revenue and margins, reducing the lead to sales cycle whilst delivering exceptional customer experience to prospective customers and getting good fit customers who will be poised to be delighted customers
• Understand and introduce innovative technology interventions to facilitate the sales process. Lead the adoption and ensure consistent, methodical use of HubSpot Sales Professional.
• Establish sales objectives by meticulous assessment of the target market, potential market, and prospective customer in the market (including clear territory management as well as a tiered approach to the managing of Key Accounts).
• Define Key Accounts Management process (incl. call frequency, approach, and key messaging) that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvements when and where required.
• Support the collections team in debt collection through appropriate channels.

Leadership
• Communicate business direction and goals and ensure team members (internal and external) and key partners articulate them
• To be the first line of solution to the key accounts in any matter facing them.
• Actively contribute to corporate and brand advocacy
• Ensure that the key accounts team (internal and external) is well trained and motivated in order that Acorn representation is superior to the competition in respect of both core and added value services
• Give recognition for superior performance, Innovation and proactively deal with performance issues.
• Schedule coaching sessions for members through direct engagement and route accompaniment, and provide clear and timely feedback on opportunities for development.
• Drive unnecessary costs out of the business through business reviews by identifying specific areas of cost reduction.

• Leverage complementary strength of the team, valuing Different approaches, experiences, and expertise.
• Propose goals, Performance Objectives, and Measures of Success for the Operational Plan and for the key accounts programs developed for the area and track ongoing results.

Other Requirements
• 8 – 10 years relevant working experience in the hospitality industry, Banking, FMCG, or related field, with at least five (5) years managing key accounts
• At least 3 years of proven experience in managing a sales force/ key accounts team.
• A degree, preferably in Sales/ Marketing/Business Management.
• Deep knowledge of, and experience in, strategy development, execution, and review at institutional and territorial levels.
• Strong quantitative/financial knowledge, including experience creating complex models, with a demostrated the ability to extract appropriate data to convey complex information
• Demonstrated ability in structured problem solving, yet comfortable with unstructured and ambiguous situations and tasks.
• Ability to learn new content quickly, identify connections and second-order implications and demonstrate competence with internal/external teams.
• Experience in developing and managing strong partnerships and relationships inside and outside the organization, managing conflicts, and building consensus. Comfortably engages with senior decision-makers within universities and organizations, and constructively challenges colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
• Excellent oral, facilitation and written communication skills; works well in diverse teams, with efficiency and diplomacy.
